I
don't profess to be a master cabinet maker - nor do I claim to
be a cigar connoisseur. The two however do give me great
enjoyment. Having filled my three desktop humidors . . . and
the large "coolerdor" - I thought why not build my own.
And while I am at it . . . why not try to come up with a way to take
care of that temperature problem that I always have in keeping
the cigars below 80 degrees. So, the
design of this cabinet will include thermo-electric cooling and the
Oasis for humidity. Ron
07-18-06 UPDATE: As some have asked - no
I am not done. Work on the cabinet has slowed to a crawl as I
make some changes, gather some parts and most importantly - summer
time is pretty busy with work, the house, etc etc. So just
check back later - hopefully I can find some time to get some work
done on it.
11/10/06 UPDATE: Work on the cabinet has been minimal. I
did get the two new fans in for the hot side. Both are rated
at 236 CFM so if they don't do it nothing will. I did spend
the day installing those fans and doing some testing. At this
point I am going to go with it. With the room at 72 degrees -
the cabinet cooled down to 66 degrees in a short time so I adjusted
the thermostat to reflect an on temp of 75 degrees and a shut off of
70 degrees. So now I am ready to go ahead and get the finish
on it!
This is a work in progress and
pictures will be uploaded at various points of the project until
complete.
